2010 Short Agenda

Hey people, this is a short agenda of what's gonna happen in semester 2:

• 31 January 2010 - Australian Open Screening - Let's enjoy heat of the match together!
  
• 21-22 January 2010 - Sports Expose Day: Confirm your membership renewal; sign up for upcoming events
• 21-22 January 2010 - Demo Day: Try out which racket suits you!
• 27 January 2010 - NTU Tennis Championship Draw meeting: Meet your opponents
• 1 February 2010 - NTU Tennis Championship Commences
• 8-19 March 2010 - Novice Open commences!
  

NTU Tennis Club Rallying sessions will continue from Monday, 25 January 2010.
Rallying Sessions for Semester 2, 2010, will be held every Monday, 1800-2100 hours.

Available Tennis Lessons for Semester 2, 2010 are:
Beginner 1 Class - Totally new to Tennis: We'll teach you the basics.
Beginner 2 Class - Continuation of Beginner Class in semester 1
Intermediate Classes - Are you consistent enough? deadly enough?

Membership Renewal

Hi Tennis Club Members!

To Renew your membership for semester 2 simply drop an e-mail to NTU.Tennis.Club@Gmail.com: stating your full name, matric. number, and contact number - Latest by 2 January 2010.
On top of being able to sign-up for Tennis Lessons, all members will be given priority during rallying sessions.
Registration renewal is at S$10 for existing members and S$15 for new members.
New members are entitled to NTU Tennis Club T-Shirt.
Payments are to be made during Sports Expose Day on Tuesday, 19 January 2010.

The Tennis Camp 2009 is on;
14 - 18 Dec 2009;
Aimed to promote your muscle memory, the Tennis Camp is a series of half-days intensive training to reinforce movement consistency.

SRC Tennis Courts Opens - Tennis Club activities as per normal

Dear All,

Starting this Saturday, 17 Oct 2009, NTU Tennis Club activities will run as per normal, SRC Tennis Courts being the new venue for the coaching and rallying sessions. Details are as follow:

• Saturdays, 1000 - 1200, SRC Tennis Court #4 & #5 - Rallying Sessions
  
• Mondays, 1900-2000 & 2000-2100, SRC Tennis Court #4 - Beginners' Lessons
  
• Wednesdays, 1800-1900 & 1900-2000, SRC Tennis Court #4 - Beginners' Lessons
  
• Thursdays, 1800-1900, SRC Tennis Court #4 - Intermediates' Lessons
  
• Saturdays, 0900-1000, SRC Tennis Court #4 & SRC Tennis Court #5 - Beginners' Lessons

NTU Tennis League Commencing

Hi mates,

The Annual NTU Tennis League commences on the coming Saturday, 19 September 2009.
Registration opens all year round; Though the later you join the round robin, the less time you have on collecting points.
We are hoping to impel growth in our skills through these casual matches.

NTU Tennis League 2009

Rules & Regulations

1) Eligibility

All NTU Tennis Club members are eligible to participate in the League.

Registration Fee: Free-of-Charge

Registration: NTU Tennis Club Rallying Session - Look for Dennise (open all-year round)

2) Time & Venues

All Matches are to be played during NTU Tennis Club’s Rallying Session:

Saturdays, 1000-1200 – NIE Courts (Before October) /SRC Courts (October Onwards)

Wednesdays, 1800-2100 – SRC Courts (October Onwards)

One court is reserved for League matches

3) Format of Play

The first to four wins. Tie break at three-all (7points game. Difference of 2 points at 6-all onwards).

Events available: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles.

4) League Fixtures

Matches are decided between players. Fixtures will be posted on ntutennisclub.blogspot.com. Any 2 players are allowed only one match in the whole league.

Points will be calculated on 1 April 2010.

Points	-4	4	-8	8

In this case, D is the champion.

Players have to compete against at least 80% of total participants for his points to be considered. This number is subject to revision by the league master.

5) Officials

Players are required to officiate their own match. No umpires will be provided. Winner of the match is to report their scores to the league master.

6) Warm-Ups

5 minutes only.

7) Wet Weather

In case of bad weather, involved parties are free to decide:

- Reports the current score and end the match

- continue with the last score at first available time

8) Ethics

Players who uses audible profanities or hits, kicks or throws a racket/ball will face disciplinary action deemed fit by the Hon. Referee of the league.

9) Prizes

Men’s Singles: Ipod Nano Red (Engraved: Champion, NTU Tennis League 2009/2010)

Women’s Singles: Tennis Bag

Subject to revision by the league master

September has just started!
How was your second coaching sessions on Sats??
There were rallies too, of course. Though weather was HOT towards the end!

Anyways, Tennis lovers, even in the faraway island of NTU, here's this month's "Down the Line!"

• 09-09-2009 - 17:00-2100. Wednesday -SAC Lounge (opposite the Quad) - Roger Federer Vs Andy Roddick!! Wimbledon 2009 finals is screened in a cozy lounge. Don't worry about cribs n' drinks, quad's just around the corner!
  

• 03-10-2009 - Morning. Saturday - KL - ATP Tennis Match - Join us to the nearest live match ever since Heineken Open! Watch them semis and finals up close at S$220, transports and accommodations included. Check out http://www.malaysianopentennis.com/players.html".
  

• Saturdays - 09:00-12:00 - NIE Tennis Courts -Watch out for the weekly Tennis rallying session. Anyone, and we mean anyone at all, are welcome. :D
  

• Weekly - Allocated days, timing, and venues - Coaching sessions is ongoing! Those of you lucky enough to secure a timeslot, work hard! But for the rest, A challenging training camp is coming up in December, do look forward to it!!

NTU Tennis Club's first ever tennis camp!

Contrary to what most would associate the word camp with,
the happy campers didn't have to sleep overnight at tents pitched at the tennis courts.

Instead, it was a day event, 9am-1pm.

Whereby the 4 day event was mainly to target beginners and help develop muscle memory.

Getting to school by 9am for the next 4 consecutive days sure made it memorable.

But what we hope the campers remembered,

were the newly accquired tennis techniques!

We sure hope you weren't dozing off in class! =]
